Labor Day Meast 2007

We got most of the old college gang together for some Meast action over Labor Day weekend at the new Ranzch. We had folks here from Cali to Maine.....it was a blast. Even the kiddos joined the party. Good times - looking forward to next years fun - hopefully in California! wahooooooooooooo

Here are my cousins Amanda, Kate and Madison sitting pretty with my daughter at the Balloon Fest in Perry, NY. What a beautiful group of ladies!!

Balloon Fest Perry, NY

We visited my grandmothers this summer to see my Uncle Dave and cousin Kate who were visiting from Texas. We don't see them often, so it was a fun trip. Here we are at the local Balloon Festival - it was absolutely beautiful to watch them float away and Heidi had a blast running around with my youngest cousins.

Erik's Summer Fun

How perfectly scary if this picture? Erik in about 20 years? Lounge chair, open hawaiian shirt, beer bottle? Eeek! Well, I thought it was hysterical!

OK, I had to add this pic because it is hysterical. I thought we were going to have a nice picture of Erik and I with the bird, but at the last minute he reached out and gave the bird a full hand grab. You can see the joy in his face and the horror in mine. Unfortunately for me, this was not a staged pose. Too funny! No Erik!!!!

Heidi, Daddy and Polly

Mystic Aquarium has a new "Birds of Australia" sanctuary that is basically a big tent with cockatiels flying around in it. But, hey, the kids enjoyed the chaos. We paid for a little bird seed stick and tried with all our might to coax the Blue cockatiels down per Heidi's request. Not that easy. Well, it was neat anyway.

Mystic Aquarium

We visited the aquarium for fun one day and were greeted with a huge downpour. Luckily, we still got to see everything, including the stingray pool. The kids had fun splashing the water much to the dismay of the docents.

Mmmmmm Ice Cream Cake

Heidi had her first taste of Carvel Ice Cream Cake for her birthday this year. She got it partly because I didn't want to cook in August and partly because of Andy's own craving for ice cream cake! She is a huge fan of the chocolate crunchies....just like her parents.

First Birthday Boy

Well, we moved out of the Cuba house and into our apartment in Manchester, CT right before Erik's first birthday. He started to walk just a week before his birthday and has been nonstop ever since. His favorite birthday gift was a vacuum - hopefully that is an omen for things to come....
